How silent disco hire works
The process
- Get a quote. Tell us the date, how many headsets you need and where the event is. You'll get a price.
- We confirm. This is an enquiry, not a booking. We check the date is free and reply by email within 24 hours. If it's free, we send you a Stripe payment link. You pay the full hire fee and a refundable deposit of £100 to confirm your booking.
- You collect or we deliver. In Brighton and Hove we deliver and collect for £20. Or collect the headsets yourself from Bevendean, for a 24-hour hire.
- You hold your event. Everyone puts on a headset. The transmitter has one channel, so everyone hears the same thing. You can send us a Spotify playlist, or book a DJ.
- Return. If we delivered, we collect the headsets again. If you collected them, bring them back to Bevendean at the end of your 24 hours, between 9am and 8pm. Once they're back with us, we return your deposit within a couple of days.

Questions
How does a silent disco work?
Everyone wears wireless headphones. A transmitter sends the music to them, so the room stays quiet while the dance floor doesn't. The transmitter has one channel, so everyone hears the same thing. The transmitter also takes a microphone, for announcements, speeches or a talk.
How many headsets do I need?
Each person who wants to listen needs their own headset. We hold 40 headsets, and hire them in packages of 10, 20 and 30. Choose the package that covers the number of people you expect to use them.
What's included in the price?
Everything you need: the headsets, the transmitter, chargers and leads, printed instructions and one day's hire (a 24-hour period).
How far in advance should I book?
Send your enquiry as early as you can. We'll check the date and confirm by email. Nothing is booked until we confirm. There's no fixed minimum notice, and we'll try to fit in any request. You can book up to 18 months ahead.
How do collection and delivery work?
Either. In Brighton and Hove we deliver and collect for £20 (£10 each way). Or you can collect the headsets yourself from Bevendean and keep them for a 24-hour period. We share the exact collection address once your booking is confirmed. Elsewhere in Sussex, we'll confirm the cost in your quote.
What about the deposit and damage?
There's a refundable deposit of £100. You pay it, along with the hire fee, when you book, and we return it within a couple of days of the headsets being back with us. If a headset is damaged or lost, we charge £50 per headset, taken from your deposit. We only charge for real breakage or loss, not normal wear.
How are the headsets cleaned?
We clean the headsets, including the ear pads, between every hire.
